Hair theft is on the rise!

[1]Hair theft is on the rise in America and around the world.

I was humored and puzzled by the news [2] recently of a 24 year old woman in Brazil who had her hair stolen by a thief. She was at a bus stop when a man approached her and cut her hair off. It was stated that her hair was a choice value because it was “virgin” and not chemically treated. This made her hair valuable to be sold for a wig. After explaining to her local pastor why her hair was short she then felt compelled to report the matter to local police.

Don’t think this could not happen in America!!!

The New York Times reported a string of hair extension thefts in Houston where thieves took off with $150,000 of human hair. Some of the other places reporting hair thefts between $10,000 and $85,000 have been Texas, Michigan and California. The most coveted stolen hair is remy hair which is hair is sold with its outermost cuticle layer intact. It is among the most expensive.
