European designer line Marni [8] has teamed up with newly minted L.A. scenster denim brand Current/Elliot [9] for a co-branded autumn/winter jeans collection. The resulting products have just recently made it all the way to the breezy Northwest, by way of Nordstrom [10], and we are (maybe not surprisingly) really excited about it.

[11]Apparently when you combine the quirky high style of Milan with laid-back California you get a collection that seems tailor-made in the vein of Portland’s style aesthetic. Weird, huh?

The Current/Elliot and Marni line of denim feels distinctly new grunge and features many different looser styles, such as rolled up boyfriend and relaxed fit jeans. After countless seasons of denim domination, this new collaboration could finally signal the end of the too-tight, everything on display reign of skinny jeans. A revolt we are more than happy to get on board with.

In addition to focusing on slouchy cuts, their jeans will come in a range of dyes and washes. Details such as embroidery, cloth borders and leather piping, are unique additions to a classic American staple. The limited edition, eight-piece collection will be in select Nordstrom stores (including the downtown Portland hub), so start saving up because prices range between $200 and $500.
