By Evergreen,
Oregon writer

The Baby Center has just released the top baby names given in 2011.  It is great to see Olivia make the top ten list, which could have been influenced by Oregon Women’s Report fellow writer, Olivia Rossi.  See chart below.  Among the most odd names were Air, Gagana, Favor, Roo, Xoie & Tangy for girls.  For boys, the most oddest names were Draco, Braun, Lion & Summit.

Thanks, Evergreen! It’s nice to have some company. I never met another Olivia when I was growing up. This week while flying back from Virginia, waiting at the airport, I heard my name called out twice. Neither was for me! It’s a nice name and glad it’s mine. It’s a new, old-fashioned name.
