Poem: Dream Man

March 23, 2012

Dream Man
by Jennifer Anne F. Messing
Oregon Author, Poet, Columnist & Speaker

Are you my dream man?
Are you the prince I’m looking for?
You might glimpse your lady-love
When you come knocking at my door.

I’m hoping you will look beyond
a charming, surface smile.
I hope we can be good friends—
chat and visit for awhile.

Perhaps we’ll share a latte,
A slice of cake, or apple pie—
At some nearby, quaint cafe’
That we both want to try.

Perhaps you’ll tell me something
personal, and true—
I’ll be glad to learn about
the real, caring you.

Who knows? You might become
My best friend, my tender lover,
May we find sweet, blissful joy
Falling in love with each other.
