Petition to save workers from working on Thanksgiving!
By Evergreen,

I always felt so bad for the employees who have to work on Black Friday at 3:00 in the morning! What kind of family time and evening dinner can you have when you have to get up at 2:00am in the morning for the most maddening and high traffic shopping day. One employee, Anthony Hardwick, has started a petition asking retailers to hold back on forcing employees to work on Thanksgiving. What a perfect idea.

This petition makes even more sense for those family members who have to travel for Thanksgiving.   The end result is that some family members have their holidays cut short and others have to rush through.

Here is what the petition says.

A midnight opening robs the hourly and in-store salary workers of time off with their families on Thanksgiving Day. By opening the doors at midnight, Target is requiring team members to be in the store by 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. A full holiday with family is not just for the elite of this nation — all Americans should be able to break bread with loved ones and get a good night’s rest on Thanksgiving!Join me in calling for Target retail stores to push back their original opening time of 5am on Black Friday.
